Noninvasive Methods for Assessing Inflammatory Bowel Disease Activity in Pregnancy

Active IBD in pregnancy is associated with increased risk for adverse outcomes for the mother and baby.  Read our systematic review (Tandon P, Leung K, Yusuf A, Huang V.  J Clin Gastro 2019 epub first) where we examine the literature for the test characteristics of non invasive methods to assess IBD activity in pregnancy.   Fecal calprotectin (FCP) seems to be the best non invasive test to monitor for active IBD in pregnancy.
